Shawn D. Holt brings over 29 years of transformative executive leadership in child welfare and hospital administration to his role as Corporate Vice President at the National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP). Known for his ability to foster innovation and inspire teams, Shawn has dedicated his career to making a lasting impact on youth, families, and communities nationwide.
In his current role at NYAP, Shawn oversees strategic initiatives, operational excellence, and program development, ensuring the organization’s mission to advocate for youth and families is achieved with compassion and integrity.
Before joining NYAP, Shawn served as the Chief Executive Officer of River Vista Behavioral Hospital, where he successfully led comprehensive mental health and substance abuse treatment programs. His leadership extended across inpatient care, outpatient services, and crisis stabilization, enhancing outcomes for individuals at every stage of recovery.
Throughout his career, Shawn has held executive leadership positions with esteemed organizations, including Maryhaven, St. Vincent Family Center, Franklin County Children Services, The Buckeye Ranch, and Twin Valley Psychiatric Systems. His professional accomplishments include developing innovative care delivery models, streamlining operations, and driving measurable improvements in organizational performance and client outcomes.
Shawn holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Bethany College and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Franklin University. He is also a sought-after speaker and advocate for mental health, substance abuse treatment, child welfare, and systemic change, using his expertise to influence policy and practices in the field.
